What's the sample time on it? What's the storage? What's it like to get loose on those... uh... buttons, when banging out a beat? Are they velocity sensitive? Please show me a link to a single video that showcases how easy it is to work with. What's the battery life like?

That does look hella hot though.

Akai is like that FLY ex-girlfriend that you run into after not seeing her for years…. Yeah, she LOOKS fine and you start to question why you ever broke up... BUT she opens her mouth and you quickly remember how CRAZY she is (or in Akai's case- how UNSTABLE the software is!!)

I want the MPC Live & X to do REALLY WELL and start a rebirth of the standalone/hybrid drum machines BUT Akai's previous stability track record tells me NOT to get my hopes up!!

Yes, and every one I've seen proves that there's nothing organic about the workflow, that the sample time is garbage and that you can't get down w/ it, as far as the natural rhythm of performance that the MPC's pads allow. The cryptic drilling down into the menu system makes it a total buzz-kill.

That's like whoever said recently that it can't do anything that MPC 1000 cannot do. Haha.
