is it possible to operate the Live or X without touching the screen? Just by using the buttons and data wheel?

For a lot of things you can operate the X without using the touch screen.. almost everything has a dedicated button.. or at least SHIFT and a button..

Besides that you have the cursor buttons and the jog wheel.. so if you don't want to use the touch screen you can do without it..

But sinds I am beginning to understand that touch is faster.. I am using it more often than I thought!

You've pre-ordered the X and got a deal for 1619,- but your unit still hasn't arrived..
And Van is selling one for 2199,-

I understand Van, because that's what he paid for it and he's fair enough not to make any profits.
But compared to my deal that would almost be 1/4th of the price..

And if I would go for it and the next day my preordered 'X' comes in I would have to sell Van's MPC to another user or retun it to the store..

If I didn't had this deal I would have sealed the deal with Van last saturday bro..

All the stores I spoke to told me that they will have no new stock intill end september.. maybe even october..

And if a shop sold it in a pre order for 1600 and they now know they can sell it for 2199 like all the other stores.. and there are not enough X's to supply the demand.. Why would they give it to you? Then other customers who payed full price will get it earlier I guess..

What about we seal the deal like this:

You give me 2150 and a large bottle of Sonnema Beerenburg.. I give you the MPC X instantly and you can drewl over it like I am doing since I have it installed..

When your pre order arrives in a month or 2.. sell it as new and ununpacked for 2150..

This way it only costs you a large bottle of Sonnema Beerenburg to play the X now.. not that much money to cancel the waiting

Its possible on the Live, but certain screens need to be accessed via touchscreen, plus Akai needs to iron out a few bugs because on certain screens, the jogwheel will not respond, so you have to use the touchscreen.

Other than that, me being an old school cat prefering standalone machines versus the computer, the touchscreen is a breathe of fresh air to my workflow and does not hinder me in anyway. It feels like progress really. Sure, its daunting at first, but after a couple of hours a day with it, the screen will be your best friend

With the Live you need mostlt the touch screen. It doesn't have dedicated buttons like the X. Example , note repeat needs the scteen.

The warranty more than likely isnt transferable to someone buying used, so I personally wouldn't risk paying full price and voiding the warranty. Not for the sake of waiting a few weeks anyway.

Warranty is transferrable, there is no legal way of avoiding that for a store.. and then again if the store is making a fuzz about that.. then warranty can always be done trough me no problem...

Yes sir the warranty is good, if he sells it to another person. Keep the box closed and don't break any seals.

It seems to me that we've all brought good point's to the table..

If I would do it, the best way would be for us both to go back to the store and agree with them that while you return it I purchase it..

The thing is, Yes I'm hungry for the 'X' but I already waited for so long.. 2 months extra wont kill me..
