Is there any possibility you can use the 16 levels function with a midi keyboard?

Or just have a bass sample layed out on the keys? My midi keyboard has no settings so whatever i have to do i will have to do on the mpc.

I tried the search but couldnt quite find anything like this.

If someone has the answer and something like this has been posted again, just PM me the thread with the answer to my question and delete this thread.

i use an mpc 2000(no xl)

thanks

I do not believe that using the 16 lvls over MIDI is possible over. When you use the 16 lvls it simply assigns that sample to all the pads, and changes the INTERNAL pad parameters such that each pad is PITCHED differently. NONE of the sound shaping features of the MPC will work over MIDI. I am pretty sure about this, but if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

To overcome this just sample a middle C note into your MPC, and then go to work!

I looked around the board a lil bit.

The mpc 2000 doesnt have the auto chromatic feature so i did what i had to do.I just made a pgm, where i changed the note placement and just layed the bass tone on 13 pads manually pitched.I put that pgm on autoload so when i boot the mp the keys are mapped out the way i wanted them.

I got the midi keyboard to play the basslines cause its more comfortable this way-of course you can do this with the pads, but i like to play the basslines with the keys just as much as i like to lay the drums down with the pads you dig?

And yes i had a basstone sampled in the mpc mpc400xl ;)
