Yes, they still havent given us realtime time stretch, the way it is now its simply unusable :WTF:

It’s probably never going to improve from where it’s at right now. I give up.

I think this upgrade is a big step forward although Akai need to keep going. Firmware will be where the majority of the remaining issues will be although would be nice to now have an updated 2.0 software that does not have beta in the title.

Yeah this update is nice. Have to give Akai some credit. Though their methods still irk me.

I ordered an X today. Going to sell my Live to my friend. Guitar Center gave me a deal for $1685 on the X. Can’t pass that up.

Will be here tomorrow. Time to start working on the next Blue Soul Ten album. :-)

so what about the real time time stretch quality, in stand alone is beatmaker 3's quality actually better, it's an iPad app after all. I see many people describing the time stretch as unusable, is this really the case and if so are they going to to something about this officially?

It’s not good, turns metallic really quickly. It’s fine in real-time in the software and fine offline in standalone. I don’t even think the mpc algorithm option in the software sounds as horrific as the live/x.

man, that is not good news.. I've got the live but haven't had a chance to check the new stretch feature. It's very unfortunate that it sounds like the current stretch feature. I hope they can see their way to improving this feature as this one feature alone would make it a classic among classics. Absolutely no one has created a hardware stand alone machine with high quality realtime stretching if I'm not mistaken, and if they can do it on a 20 dollar iPad app I have to believe they can do it on the mpc live.

Man what up!!!

Man I went between a couple vendors, got a couple quotes. Then found a Guitar Center in NYC that got 3 (checked the GC website). Called the GS store directly. They’ll always do better deals than the main GC order line. Told him I needed to beat my $1762 quote, with tax. I’m in PA, so tax isn’t bad. So the only way to beat it was to put me at $1685. If you live in a state without tax, you could probably fare even better.

But its marketed as a standalone device... Dont wanna be chained to a computer to do stuff like this that is promoted by them

In standalone its simply unusable, sounds like **** ass smh

And now they release wifi and bluetooth in this update, promoting it like some new feature, while they sold it in the first place, promising it had this stuff. Even was a sticker on the box about wifi and bluetooth :WTF:
