The manual sez:

• Avoid using aerosol insecticides, etc. near the MPC2000XL. They may damage the surface, and may ignite.
• Do not use denaturated alcohol, thinner or similar chemicals to clean the MPC2000XL. They will damage the finish.

I just use a little dish washing soap and water to clean the outside.

Good Idea PENFOLD ......................

I MY Advice is this.....................

Somthing Light .........Non-Flamable is a must and then Dry it off.

I also Keep a Can of Air NEAR BY in my studio U never know dust
chips, rice or whatever and also I use the demagnetizin' variety to
fight static.

Office Supply store, they have the Can air by Endust and Endust Electronic spray that is 100% safe. I use it for all my PCs, TVs, DVD players, etc.
Just spray on rag and wipe!

Everytime I come back from touring, the MPC is crazy dirty with sweat, dirt, and smoke residue.
I just take an old sock, spray 409 or Windex on the sock and wipe it down. If you spray onto the sock, you won't have to worry about getting the insides of the MPC wet.
The 409/Windex has never caused any damage to my MP.
