I posted this question on the Akai forum and wrote to their support as well but haven't heard anything back yet and it's been eight days. I'm loving the MPC Live but Akai's supports is a bit ......er..... ...missing.

So I thought I would ask in here... I downloaded the MPC software installer from my account page and installed the software fine. When I clicked to install the driver, the installer quits.

I'm on a 2012 Macbook Pro 2.7GHz. It's running High Sierra and I know that to install applications form "3rd party developers" you have to get around Gatekeeper, either by right clicking/opening, or just disabling Gatekeeper in Terminal.

...but it isn't Gatekeeper because the installer file opens. It installed the software fine. It's when I clicked to install the driver, it quits.

The software is up to date. My mac is healthy. I've rebooted till the cows came home...

...any ideas?

Wassup, Crumb$..
Difficult to say, Could be High Sierra, I've had problems (albeit with the expansions rather than the software install-which btw, on my mac mini, worked fine). Corrupt download, maybe?
Maybe try re-downloading from your account, (but you've prob already tried that, I guess..)
Yeah, Akai can be a bit lacking in the support dept, so I feel your pain.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
@ MPC Tutor: any insights?
Peace.
Edit:- Just read your post on the Akai site, Nick D said he contacted you via email? Has nothing come of this?

I just saw that. Nick has forwarded my details to technical support at Akai. Hopefully they'll have a solution, or a different installer file or something...

I did try downloading the file again but it's the same issue. Still quits.

At this point I'm not desperate to use the software, I'm still having too much fun being away from a computer. But in terms of editing a bigger project and especially organising my own expansion packs, I'm keen to get it working at some point...
