Dear all,
I have replaced my hardware sequencer studio RS7000, I have been using for 14 years now, with the MPC X.
As the RS7000 is still working as expected, I read a lot about the MPC X before I decided to buy it.
One of the most important basics of the RS7000 - and if I search the internet I see that most (all?) of other hardware systems have this too - is a constant MIDI Clock output to attached systems.
The MIDI Clock in the MPC X starts ONLY to run, if I start the MPC X to play or record. Which works for empty projects or I need to mute sequences.
I also tried to make one of the other synth to be the master for the MIDI clock - unfortunately, the MPC X will NOT Count In for recording if it is a slave - therefore no option too.
I Know that most people use the MPC X for different tasks compared to me. But nevertheless would I expect to have this in the MPC X too, as this MPC is now an integrated studio system, rather than a sampler/sequencer like the previous MPCs.
My explanation why I would like this feature implemented:
- If I prepare a production, the early stage, I play quite a bit around without recording anything.
- I am using the M3 as basic keyboard and the integrated KARMA to phrase out lead themes
- The Access Virus is doing all the awkward and deep base sounds
- Many of my productions are not beat-based productions, but rather soundscape like - student film projects, and theatre sound support.
Un-muting sequences e.g. is not done by hitting a single key (unfortunately the RS7000 can do this) but fingering on the screen - which interrupts creativity quite a bit.

But I am not the only one who is asking for a simple switch doing exactly that - Constant MIDI Clock ON/OFF in the basic set up.
The thread (viewtopic.php?t=156185&p=1638941) created a high amount of emotions, and I do not want to discuss my opinion, but would like to forward this to the AKAI team to make the MPC X even more flexible.
Thank you for the opportunity to bring this forward.

A "meant-to-be" issue Oh my god I can't stop laughing at this one. Akai must really think mpc users are a bunch of suckers. A meant to be issue!?!?!? No issue is meant to be!!!! You let them have you believe that!? Akai just needs to get their shit together which judging by the past decade most likely won't happen
