Will an Akai IB208P from a S2000 fit into an MPC2000xl?

Someone has told me the akai IB208P 8 out board from an S2000 can be put into an MPC 2000 xl, however I can't find any proof of this. Can anyone help?

Yea its true...It can be done, but to the inexperienced, is it worth it?

As you know, it aint for the MPC series so you'l have to make modifications etc (Metal cutting)

Do a search on this forum because this gets covered every few months. I think it is some metal plate in the MPC that gets cut, not the board itself. Why are you wanting to try this? Unless you are getting the S2000 board for free I'd get the proper MPC board. Either the Akai one or the German-made MUTEC one.

Thanks for everyones help! I'm using it as it was very very cheap! It is a mutec board though and I've noticed on the board it says S2000 and MPC2000. I will get someone a lil more experienced than me to fit it though!

That is interesting ....... Mutec seem to know what they are doing, so maybe if they say it is for both the MPC & the S2000 they might have made it the smaller size of the two. It should come with clear fitting instructions, unless you are getting it second hand.

Do you really wanna risk damaging your mpc if you are not experienced enough to do this? Is the cheap price worth it just to mess up your gear?
