Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I'm thinking if it is possible to assign a specific Q-Link knob change the Decay of the current active sound/pad, instead of only a specific sound/pad. For example: I hit a pad to highlight that sound and then the Q-Link knob will be assigned to that aound/pad and change the decay of that sound/pad. Is this possible? Or must Q-Link knobs always be assigned to specific sounds/pads/programs beforehand?

PS: I don't won a MPC 4000 yet.

QLinks are static assignments. Not dynamic assignments.

So, nope.

It is called pad control under the send page. Qlink is mainly for controlling programs. However if set qlink to ex control in program matrix you can control an individual pad that way also.

I don’t remember giving that answer, because I’ve done exactly that before while messing around in the menus on accident.
