Any news on 2.3 update?

Im digging my MPC X works well for me..

Charles- I know you’re using the 4000, have you thought about using one of the newer Mpcs with software and a sound card with a lot of outs?

I was tracking something out the other day and realized a sound card with more outs would be dope and thought about how you said you were tracking out with two Mpc 4000s.

Example: Mpc x + computer and Allen and heath q pac would give you 24 tracks that could run into a board.

With the X or Live, I would create a song mode, convert the song into a long sequence, then export the stems. After that import the stems into a software DAW. Then I'll just re-route the audio from the computer back to the board. To capture the sound of the board.

The Two MPC going 8 out on both gives me 16 tracks in one pass, without losing the swing of the music. Because tracking out one at a time or even 4 at a time cause the swing to change.

If you go MPC X to computer to QPAC, wouldn't the MPC X be in controller mode at that point and wouldn't that give 16 outs?

I’m able to use the six open outs on my sound card and the six on my live at the same time from th Mpc software. I could track this out all in one pass. So right now I can do 12 at a time with just the sound card and Mpc live.

The x would give you another stereo pair and there’s 16 outs on the qpac.

I don’t have a board to use but I thought maybe it might be up your ally. Seeing as how you were asking about porting aksys to windows 10. The new software is a lot more in depth from what I remember of aksys.

Now people can bicker about the new Mpc and hitter but we both know the 4000 is solid. 2 4000s might be your thing, I don’t know. Just thought I’d mention it to you.

That is a good work around using duo sound cards. Did you notice a difference in the audio quality when you did that? Before returning the X, we tried duo MPC X's and Duo MPC 4000 for 32 out in one pass and it worked like a charm. The sound quality was close enough between the X and 4000 with a dry signal.

That’s pretty dope. I didn’t notice much but I was just testing an old 8 track cassette recorder I had and only used two channels on the live. Might not be the best thing for a/bing stuff. I do t really have a need for that work flow and was just messing around.

You're the first person I've heard, do that combo with the live and a sound card.

If had the live for almost a year and half And explore the thing with differnt combos, I’m finally starting to see what works best for me.

The live in itself is a great writing tool but matching it up with ableton/any daw makes it next level.

Another month or two and I’ll have more time to dedicate to audio. I really can’t wait.
