Akai just released a new controller for FL

I mentioned it above but 2.3 is suppose to be a bigmarketing campaign with a third party developer.

That is what I was speculating on in that post

It wasn’t weirdos, it was cats who had the hardware only mentality. At first, some of the biggest hip hop producers in the game hated on it. Maybe cause it took a lot to come up with the cash for some of these legacy machines. Now comes in the kids who pirated a bootleg software to make beats with on their parents computers. Believe it or not, back in the early days that was a thing. FL didn’t start getting props until cats like 9th Wonder came in the game sounding like Pete Rock, using nothing but a cheap laptop and cheap computer speakers. After that, no one cared.

Aw, leave Pete alone, the MPC team didn't have anything to do with Fire. Fire was mostly one Engineer here in America. MPC people have been working on MPC full speed for like 5 years now.

Also, keep in mind, you guys might not use it, but things like MPK mini 2, Fire etc all go to funding our big dev projects, like MPC etc. These little controllers "keep the lights on" so to speak.

So what about compatibility with the new mpcs/software and the fire Dan?

You know what? I don't care what Akai does anymore. My MPC live is working and l am not going to worry about them. I use it for drums which is nice. I got to much going on. That's why l set my stu up the way l did. I think the end of standalone is going to come to an end. As DAWs get more incredible and inexpensive with a powerful computer will kill the nag for standalone. I couldn't work on that Fire not for me.

Naw the market is really hot right now for all types of smaller budget drum machines and synths. What you will see is just more computer integration and less flag ship workstations.

What will they add in the 2.3 update, that will improve your current production?

Currently using 2.1 cause 2.2.1 is broken! Waves plug-ins and bridge plugs have blank GUI's so Im hoping it will get fixed

The way I see it is Akai gave FL users more options for their workflow. Clicking a screen with a mouse all the time is monotonous and boring and working with a hardware controller is mentally stimulating and inspires creativity. This is a smart business move for both Image-Line and Akai Professional and a smarter move for beatmakers.

FL Studio is far more advanced than the majority of DAWs on the market yet it's considered to be a step-child to those unknowledgeable producers who turn their nose up at it, because ignorant bashing is a thing to do. MPC users have more to gain from adding Akai Fire/FL Studio to their production arsenal than dismissing it as you can run MPC software in FL Studio and enact simple methods such as sidechaining and parallel mixing, but also more advanced techniques such as hyper-editing, multi-pitch-filtering, harmonic layering, and granular slicing to name a few.

Hating on this opportunity to dive deeper in the creation of your music is just plain silly...

I'm going to pick up one, just because I have a extra window's 10 laptop collecting dust. It's $200 and will turn that laptop into a FL Studio RIG!

I have to agree. I don’t see myself getting one but I think it’s a great idea for akai.

All the little tidbit videos they have on the site are dope. If I was still using FLstudio I would have probably bought one.

Maybe one day i'll re download , I haven't used it since Version 10, lifetime updates for the win.
