I recorded 48/24 kits from EMU TURBO PHATT. Each kit is one long WAV.
You chop, you do whatever you want with it. It’s a fish, go ahead and fillet.

EMU TP -> RME UFX via stereo 1/8 cables.
RME UFX -> Reaper DAW stereo track 48/24.
No other processing. Ferrite cores on all audio cables.

Where can I upload?

Sample chains are multiple samples lined up like lamp was describing with his mo phatt stuff. Lots of samples all in one wave. Different systems make really good use of them. Octatrack/toriaz

Live playing could really be anything. I get a lot of samples from breaking down my playing my keyboard live. Might be useful stuff people can dig for.

Maybe not break beat loops per say, but anything from sample packs loops, or even 404 style loops.

The beat battle samples is was thinking we could archive the samples they are using. Most of the time they are vinyl rips. Would take along time to catalog them but maybe one or two a week. There’s over 200, with 3-4 songs each week.

Okay, so is it like having a lots of samples on one wav and setting markers on that wav file to access that region. Never used Elektron gear before.

So melody and drums loops? If you start it, I listen to see what you put in and add to it. :nod:

The only issue I see, is the amount of space they take up.

Fair enough. We can side line that one and maybe if some gets ambitious they or we can make a google drive for that.

Yes usually sample chains have a bpm so it can automatically be chopped. It’s just what lamps upload reminded me of.

I’ll get some more going this weekend today was hell for me and I’m just heading to bed.

Looks like the ball is rolling. Which is awesome.

Sample chain, is that a made up word, never heard it called that.
I didn’t save regions or any markers.

No not made up. It’s how you have to set up stuff on octatrack and other gear because of limitations.

Eg: you have a 4 bar loop. Mpc you would chop that into 16 or whatever pads which all can be assigned an out. Ocatrack/digitakt you can waste all your tracks with one break but more often you just set the bpm and slice it. You can switch the region per step which give you the chopped up break but it’s limited to one track. It’s all electron people talk about is their sample chain. It’s more for step sequencer based sampling. Im trying to describe it right but if need be go to elektronaughts and search sample chain if you want to know more.

It’s like auto slicing a loop to one pad and switching the sample or more precisely sample region per step.

I think I’ve been reading too much the last few years, a lot of these concepts go ignored or even here get called “made up” . I might not have the best grasp but these arnt the craziest of concepts...

I do that in cubase, with a song when I want to change the arragement, without moving things around. Love doing it with 2 track song. :lol: :lol: :lol:
