If these are actual plugins, I hope it's as simple as 3rd parties adding the new format to their existing line up.

The three new plugins are AiR Instrument plugins that have been ported specifically to the standalone OS (Air are another inMusic brand) - we were suggesting this as a possibility in another topic.

They are optimised for the MPC hardware and software. We'll have to test to see what kind of CPU and memory they use.

It's not going to be simple to get third parties on board as the MPC platform is very niche, but maybe Akai will come up with a way to entice them. Or perhaps they'll just restrict it to Air plugins. I personally would like to see Air FX being ported over.
Yeah, I saw your post on that. You were spot on.

With virtually no load time (I watched Tubedigga's vid), I'm guessing the CPU & RAM usage is pretty good.

Hopefully Air will add the rest of their instruments very soon. I like Vacuum especially, though I'm guessing that's been covered by the Tube plugin. Unfortunately for me, they don't have any traditional instruments (brass, strings, guitars, etc.) And yeah, I'd like to see their effects too.

Thanks

Frisbi I saw Dan hint that as well. And AIR do have a bunch of effects already. Can't find any demos, but the stuff that's baked in the instruments is pretty good I think? As are the instruments themselves.

If this is the biggst update im gonna cry, this ads almost nothing useful and addresses none of the major problems, why would we want a stupid plug in synth? we all bought a sampler and want a sampler that works properly, this update is a joke :vomit:

Is AIR the same company that makes effects and synths for Pro Tools?
If so, I can see a bright future on the horizon

Don't need plugins for that, I have a full suite of traditional acoustic instruments for MPC on my site:

Brass, strings, bass, woodwind, keys, pianos etc. All memory optimised and standalone friendly. You can't autosample a real violin :)

Although I'm excited about the update. I AGREE.... All this and samples still DO NOT play in ORDER when triggered by midi keyboard. Im shocked this is STILL a problem.

OH MY!

In standalone mode, I just went to load the PEQ 4-Band in fx and it now has a real GUI. You can now save you fx presets.
This sh!t is good to go.

Heavyweight Update!!

The synths are a welcome addtion and Im sure I will use them BUT...

the fact that Akai implemented features that have been requested has renewed my faith in the support for the Live. The effects presets is probably the most welcome for me... big time workflow enhancement. Pad shortcuts! Its like an alternate reality!

There is still some road ahead for sure. Multi timbral input, Automation lanes or proper automation editing and clip mode improvement stand out to me. I know others are counting on disk streaming and/or PDC. After this recent push forward I think its safe expect more.

Well done Akai...

MPC Pads are mapped to the GM standard. you can change it in the software and save it for standalone, but that's not likely to change as default anytime soon.
