Glad to see Autosampler (or at least the concept of it) resurfacing in another platform again. Back in 2005 it was by far one of the most useful pieces of software for people converting their hardware synths to software samplers (it was marketed heavily to Logic Pro users). You could also sample your softsynths too. Redmatica was a hell of a company back then. Like many music software companies of that era they closed up shop - I think they were bought by Apple. Last surfacing of Autosampler was in that Apple product called Main Stage. Anyway, glad to see the Redmatica tech / concept still alive.

I owned Autosampler from Redmatica, yeah they got bought up by Apple, there's his Autosampler in Mainstage, but of course it only does Logic's EXS format now. That's cool for all the samplers on your computer, but this is great for the MPC! :smoker:

- Clip mode still unusable
- Paste midi broken (needs stupid workarounds)
- No sidechain
- No PDC
- No better mixer
- Stability issues

And you all going crazy because they dropped some synths in standalone which nobody requested, auto sampler and crossfade. That's hilarious.

Don't expect them to ever listen their user base if you happy with this update.

You are half right.
The new implementation of 3 synths and arp is a great gift my friend.
It also shows Akai is developing MPC and they are opening very interesting possibilities for the future.
But I understand your disappointment.
I am also very disappointed that Akai in one year still didn't fix the Clip mode, it is a bit crazy that they even didn't mention or accept that Clip mode is buggy and almost unuseable right now.
That's a shame.
So I am half very happy and half very disappointed.

I kind of prefer the old GUI for the effects.. haven't tried the new synth yet but it was a great idea.

As much as I have enjoyed the new stuff, I really hope the next update fully focusses on stability, bug fixes, workflow/key commands and just overall just dealing with the glaringly obvious issues. It's extremely close to being a very dangerous bit of gear now.

I want the basic sampler functions fixed before some extra plugin bundle garbage synths, i have all the synths i need i dont need free software ones i will never use, i want
Multitimbral midi control
Midi feedback over usb for controllers
stability/ efficiency fixes so it doesnt choke on a medium busy project
Sample latch Hold (legacy mpc function long forgotten about)
Pdc, sidechain etc dont really care about but this update is a distraction to stop us noticing the unfinished software.

I understand how some ppl are bummed that their much-requested features did not get fixed etc…I am too.
However, this can show that Akai can come up with some biggies and push the MPC forward.
I saw them say on their FB as a comment that they'll be developing more instrument/plugin content.
One can guess that they'll be working on small stuff next…biggies like this probably take a lot of time.
Still, would be nice to see that basic useability stuff get fixed proper.

I was in the same mood as you because it's one year I wait for a usable clip mode.
But then I updated to 2.3 and I was really impressed by Electric. Pure beauty. And also the arp.
I think that AIR is taking MPC live to a new level.
Yes for sure if Akai is not crazy, they have to fix all the bugs now and if they do so they really will have no competition

This forum is a real bummer which is a shame. Gearslutz seems much more constructive. Everyone who has aired their feelings has a valid point, because we have all invested money in this company. I've used mpc machines since 1998 along with other brands. I've come to the conclusion that perfection is never reached and workarounds are needed - limitation breeds creativity etc.

I'm amazed how far the mpc concept has come in 20yrs, I try to remind myself of that fact and feel thankful.

Hmmm.... My CPU load in controller mode seems to be going a bit haywire since installing 2.3. I'm at 74% and I'm barely using any effects plugins...

Sorry but you’re an idiot :fku: Nobody is going crazy... only recognizing an update that reflects commitment to the product going forward.

Also your list of things that didn’t make the update is a joke. All except PDC. Side chain? Seriously? Requested, yes. Important, no. There are far more important things we are waiting on! But the arp and xfade were requested and delivered. Pad shortcuts... delivered! Auto sampler was out of nowhere and the plugins were a nice surprise.

Most would agree that at this point multi timbral input, sd card streaming, automation lanes and clip mode functionality are what we are waiting for. Better mixer? Wtf u talking bout :WTF: Paste MIDI? Just use events copy in the sequence editor as it was always done...

I’ve been a skeptic and a critic of the new mpc line but the update proves, to me at least, there is more coming down the road.

Go away!

Has anyone tested yet how much memory the instrument plug-ins take up?
Not sure I would use them if they ate up more of that shrinking 2G.

I tested Electric and the main synth (i don't remember the name) together in two different tracks and cpu was about 30 per cent. I added effects and still around 30 per cent.
So i guess it is ok. You can use two of them.
And I have to say electric really impressed me, very beautiful sound and many possibilities with it.
I Also the main synth, i still have to work on it a bit but I found it quite good at the moment.
