Output routing

I have a Studio running the latest mpc software, at the moment I have a 2 in 2 out soundcard. If I got a 2 in 8 out soundcard could I route individual tracks to individual channels on my hardware mixer?

The more 1 for 1 ports you have the more you can route, yes.

Great, I have an old Fostex DMT8 that I want to use as a mixer, wasn't sure that I could separate all the tracks on the software, will now buy an 8 out focuswite soundcard, I like the idea of controlling each track and eq with a hands on faded.

Read up on specs and see if all ports can actually breakout into daw as separate channels before purchasing. NOT ALL INTERFACES CAN DO THAT so beware and read through the manuals before purchasing.
