Don't know if its already been mentioned, but I just saw this email from Akai today. $800 of Expansion content free of charge. I'm looking forward to it.

"Hot on the heels of the announcement of MPC 2.3, Akai Professional presents a limited-time promotion for its flagship standalone music production centre, MPC X. From 14.1.19 through to 14.4.19 new and existing users of Akai Professional's MPC X will receive a genre-spanning collection of premium, in-demand sound content from the existing MPC Expansion collection and the all-new MPC Expansions Exchange, worth in excess of $800. From hard-hitting drums to sultry melodic lines and everything in between, this collection from leading sound designers builds on the existing critically acclaimed stock library, providing producers of all walks with the ultimate in must-have sound content for immediate creative inspiration."

If you have an MPC X registered to your account, you apparently need to send an email to [email protected] to request they send you something... links maybe? This is sort of detailed on your account page at AkaiPro.com if you open up your account and look under the MPC X. Weird that this is not available for Live users.

Let's see what they are getting? I'm curious to know what they are giving away and if it's any good.

What's on the list boys?

I sent the email earlier today.

Weird that the offer explicitly states: "This software title does not have any available downloads."

From the email I received:

“For a Limited Time, New and Existing MPC X Users Get Access to a Premium Collection of MPC Expansions from MVPLoops and the MPC Expansions Exchange.”

I've got several of the MPC Expansions. I've never tried the MPC Expansions exchange.

make sure you email your serial # and proof of purchase when you request the expansion pack.

I sent the serial #, but not the proof of purchase. I'll reach out to them tomorrow.

Appreciate it!

A picture of the receipt or something :|

yes that would work from my understanding - i bought mine online so i copied the email receipt - i think as long as you send serial # and some attempt to prove purchase it should be fine....

I'm still trying to figure out why Akai would do this? Is there more behind this? Are they trying to count how many units have actually been sold vs how many have been produced?

Are they trying to see how big the MPCX user base is? Is it to drop the X development/support soon?

Why would they give away $800,-..??

Maybey it's just me thinking out loud but something smells fishy.. :hmmm:

The ten packs they had on the post advertising the freebie are retailed at around $300 bucks.....that would mean they value the "exclusive content" at around $500.......

If i paid $800 for it i''d be screaming right now. There are a couple packs i like but the majority will just sit there babysitting plugins i dont use. It feels like a sort of "gather up a few things and throw it their way" type of thing....and for that i certainly dont know why they just limited it to X users....
having said that i appreciate perks and will definitely be using some of the freebies.

Got it installed yesterday, did not have time to try it yet.

Maybe akai just want to sell more MPC X, make it more attractive price wise with this bundle. I remember a lot a people was saying that twice the price for the X compared to live was way too much. And that's why it's not available for Live IMHO.
