Do you know if The Synth Hype is coming with it?

zangetsu01 wrote:
Yes but you and I both are existing users so we are going to get it for free..

Hype is not.coming with 2.4
There is no space on internal sd to put all datas like wavetables, oscillators and so on.
But he also said is gonna come soon and those datas will be put on users sata hard disk.
I dont know why they didn't make it for 2.4, maybe it will need disc streaming somehow?

I don't get it. wave tables are usually very small cycle waveforms.
Except if Hype is a sample based synth that has multi sampled instruments also. Maybe its UI is better than the Keygroups. I HATE those. It's a pain in the ass if you use sampled note to play melodic stuff.

Yes I agree, I never liked keygroups so much, very heavy to load and since they put synths I forgot about keygroups.
I think Hype is sample based or something like that, Dan on Gs said it needs something like 10gb of datas.
But its gonna come, everytime Dan said something, it just happened.
I would love if Akai developes a plugin platform so we can have other interesting keyboards like Electric and don't need keygroups anymore

Hype needs 10gb? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnngggggg! whew that's a heavy boy there! Maybe they should put it on their site and we can down load it on to a thumb drive or hard drive of your choice. That would make me put a hard drive in my MPC Live. :-D :smoker:

Get an SSD. I would recommend an Intel 545S. Less than a hundred bucks for anything 512GB or smaller.

Hype isn’t 10g. It’s about 1gb. There are about 2k presets. It’s wavetable with samples and subtractive, fm. Multiple synth engines combined.

Do you have a link for what you said?

Also l see where the Force can go up to 128 tracks. that's impressive.

"Clarification: about those eight tracks. You can have eight stereo tracks of audio, but up to 128 tracks total."

I use keygroups a lot, but not as they were ment to.
I just have 2 samples (C3 & C4). and I want to make a melodic program so I can play chords & stuff. But man it's a **** to set it up.

I wish I had the option to Slice > Create keygroup program
or ... Automap a folder of samples to a keygroup, because I have the Maschine Instruments library and I use a lot of stuff from there like flutes & shit.

You can slice and create a new program with every slice as a pad.
Check sample edit.

Nope. I can't. I am sampling a note. and I want to play chords. Using a proper midi keyboard.

Doing it like that I have no control over the root note & stuff.

I was thinking at a time to have some sort of default program template with pre transposed pads and just load the same sample on all pads and transpose. but it's like opening a bottle with your shoe.

A template is the way to go, just create the initial program using the C3 and C4, save it and put the XPM file somewhere, without the samples. Then each time you create another C3 and C4, name them identically, load the template XPM into your project and the C3 and C4 will auto-assign. Rename the samples and the program file. Re-save to a different location.

So sample a note and make a keygroup with it.
Or sample a note, resample it and assign to another pad, change the pitch and here you go

Are you actually reading what I"m saying or just replying for the sake of it? I know how to create a Keygroup. I was just bitching about the workflow. It's cumbersome and I wished there was a quicker / easier way.

Anyways. Hopefully we'll get Scale Mode Lock in the next update too so at least it makes it easier to play the notes while tweaking the synths.

Cheers

@MPC Tutor: that's what I did eventually.

We need this Mixer inside our workflow assap..
Don't think it will make it to 2.4 cause there is no news about it..

New Mixer + Automation Lanes + 2.4 Plugins would be so sweet..
