Very subjective question but is the MPC 500 worth buying in 2019 with all the hardware to software based products out right now(MPC studio MPC touch MPC renaissance) I’ve always used software to produce and own a mk3 and a mpk but was recently offered a MPC 500 for $200 and not sure if its worth adding to my Arsenal.

Studio, touch, ren are all tethered to software.

500 is not. It can accomplish monster beats all on it’s own, anywhere, anytime.

If people are still looking for SP1200’s these days then yes, 500 which is monstrously more capabale, yes.

Yes, the 500 is worth buying if it's you want it.
It's your money and you have to figure that out.

People buy SP1200's because they want it.

people buy sp1200's because of the characteristic sound, the workflow, and just the whole iconic aspect of it.

its not just about better specs = better machines, there is a huge human and design element at play as well.
