I have always wanted to be able to switch drum patterns independently of the rest of the song. IOW, the non drum chromatic instruments.
Then I could linearly record bass, piano etc but have the drum patterns and fills able to be switched live.
Can you do this on the MPC4000?
Or is it just like the MPC60 and you can't switch patterns while the second sequence function is on?
The second seq function still allowed me to edit the pattern chain of drum patterns and create a new sequence from that then play along with the linear sequence. But not live switching.
I now also have an MPC5000 but it has no second/simultaneous seq feature. So I am trying to get MIDI beat clock syncing well with my Motif XF and Digital Performer. So far only DP get's an accurate usable sync.
