Mixing Programs?

So I got a nice little groove going from some samples in "Drum Kits". Now I want to add some 808's from "The 809" plugin. When I load up a patch, it loads up in I guess "Program 2". But now the pattern is moved to this patch, and obviously sounds are all mixed up. How can I keep the pattern and samples, and add let's say an 808 or hat from the 809, the Bank, etc?
