Here’s a complete how to tutorial I made on recording samples with the mpc500. If you’re new to the machine it’s a great run down. If you’re experienced please let me know your opinion of my tutorial, it’s my first. Thank you.

Good video for the newbs. The new generation doesn't know anything about what cables are and how to connect. Alarming but true.

But its not tedious to chop. All you do is copy and paste the same sample to the pads, change theirs names and adjust the start and end points. Extract feature works something like that but its faster to copy and trim yourself.

Also, you can Normalize sections of a sample if certain places are too low. Adjust the points, normalize and return the start and end points to its original form. This is good when snares are to low in a break loop.
