END OF THE MPC STANDALONE!!!

The point is not if its possible to make a straight up standalone, its will they do it and keep doing it.

Do you think there are more people with software than standalone machines from Akai?

Not MPC standalone/Controller, Digitakt etc.

Akai will not be in the playing field to put out multiple Standalones. Not tethered to a computer MPC. ines?

@Danoc no i wouldn't buy it for that price. I don't but 90% of products on release i usually wait. Since i also use an ipad for muisc. I buy one once it can't really handle what i need to do. So I'm not one of those new toy buy buy buy guys.

@Charles if akai do the split between pro and consumer then yes I'm with you but it doesn't look like it. The word Pro has lost its value.

Ok, gotcha. I use to be one of those to buy buy buy, but that gear taste has been lost years ago. My love for being compact, and simple and getting what I need to be ITB is sweet for me, not having all the gear to make a record. I am loving it. Things I am interested in is software and sounds. I think being away from the 2000xl from 2012 to 2017 got me use to not having to need it. But I love my Live and will keep using it until it dies. I keep things very long in good condition.

Akai could give use everything, and there will still be complaints of "Give us this and that". Some complain to past time and to be pest.

The Live/X are Light years ahead of Previous Products. Standalone that is. Me Personally, I can provide a Work around for EVERY Shortcoming in this unit. It may require using Outboard Equipment(computer), Keyboards, Sound Modules, etc, but easily Doable in the X. Unfortunately some users may feel hard pressed because the Lack of Midi Capabilities doing performances with the Live

Man when you're dealing 128 gb ram for years after the 2000XL nobody wanna see 2gb for ram lol l dealt with 32mb crap. Since we are light years how in the fugg we get stuck with 2gb ram mr Sherlock Holmes?

MPC had 32mb of RAM in 1993 was GOD LIKE!! An Apple Powerbook 540 had like 36 MB max. Every MPC up to the MPC 2000 (Which was considered an entry level mpc.) had 8 outs. Also most people were using the MPC with rack mount samplers. s950 or S5000/S6000 which had 256 MB of RAM with a option to have 16 outs, digital outs and wordclock in 1989 or 1990. (I can't recall)

If they kept up the same standards, the MPC X should be an absolute beast.

The computer revolution changed everything.
2gb nowaday is not the standard, given that Mpc doesn't work with all 2gb but at half of that.
Even my 8gb macbook pro is a toy today.
So yes, Akai Mpc new generation doesn't even have the computing power of the Asus Zen I bought 4 years ago for 100 dollars and I am using now to write that text

I think you misread what wrote. I was talking about the high standards of MPC samplers in 1993.

Yes, the Asus Zen GPU has more RAM than the MPC X/LIVE. The Minimum System Requirements for most modern DAW's are 2GB for 32 bit OS and 4 GB for 64 bit OS. However, you'll be working at snails speeds.
