Any way to record two or more clips at once?

The other day my friend and I were jamming, I plugged a synth into input 1 and then created a track for it. My friend was playing drums on the force through a drum track. He had his track armed and I was monitoring the input of my synth channel so we could both play together. Is there no way to record the two tracks at once? There are two inputs on the thing. You're gonna tell me if a vocalist/instrumentalist wanted to record in while someone plays an instrument track on the force, they can't record that simultaneously?

Same, the ability to hold shift and arm 2 tracks at once is necessary . Hopefully it will be in the Ableton implementing update

I hook up all my instruments through a seperate mixer and then run the mixer into the Force. i realize this puts all instruments onto the same track though.
