Am I heading in the right direction gear wise?

I just purchased an mpc 2000xl. I do have a mac book with pro tools, ableton live lite. however I don't really want to use my computer as I prefer to learn hands on.

since I'm not going to be using my laptop and after reading a few posts on here I understand I am going to be needing a mixer and I've been researching different mixers and I'm stuck between the Roland vs-1880 or the Tascam dp01 I understand there is a pretty decent price difference. Do you guys recommend any good mixers that aren't too pricey?

I also ordered a Gemini xl500 2, so I can start sampling vinyl's.

Am I heading in the right direction so far? I solely plan on making beats rather than rapping or singing. Is there anything else you guys would recommend me getting ?

ok I see, so what's the difference between vs-1880 & the xenyx X1204? I understand ones a DAW and the other is a mixer.

So you have a Turntable, MPC 2000XL, Laptop with Protools. So I assume you have an audio interface so all you need is a DJ Mixer. Not using your laptop, is just smashing your head against a wall for no reason.

Turntable to DJ Mixer to MPC 2000XL to Audio Interface to Laptop.
