Managing internal storage

Why even allow files to be deleted if they are not optional is a question.

I think it's a little bit more nuanced, as i didn't interpret deleting the demo files as being harmfull. As my experience with most hardware i've owned didn't had this issue. I guess it's just a mindstate of thing: Start fresh with an empty machine without all the pre-installed content. Giving the option to delete demo files whcih takes away that startup screen is a bit of a weird decision (at least some sort of warning about it should come up), probably just a software issue. Where you can write files, you can also delete files. Software wise it does make sense, just not well thought out.

A-n-y-w-a-y let's stop this silly discussion because the solution is easy If you contact akai support and say you are a moron like me who accidently deleted that demo folder, they will sent you an autorun file and steps how to do it. No need to bring it back and wait for weeks

Cool to see you still around by the way, i was more active in the mpc1000 JJ os, but i upgraded to an mpc live, hence i'm back browsing the forums. I can't believe i registered in 2004, 15 years, wow!

I am not too familair with the 4K, but just curious; what are the main down-players for you?

I just had to replace my mpc1000 as too many buttons were not working anymore, the screencolor was changing to light or dark, q-link sliders not working anymore, etc. Fixing all of that was just a bit too much for me as i'm not that handy with hardware, and i got a second hand live for a decent price. Untill now i'm pretty pleased with the live, though i do miss some button presses you have to do on screen now (like double tapping to confirm - but i just have to get used to it). Anyhow, mainly i want to use it for drums, and sequencing midi. Hence me bashing the forums about the custom default template

No the internal storage is blocked when mounted to a pc /Mac

There's no way to access it. If you get the "autorun" file for your MPC, there could be ways you can add or take stuff off the internal storage... I increased my MPC Live's internal storage to 256GB and I had to use a "autorun" file to add all the factory content back onto the internal memory after I did it. I am going to see if I can add the new synths to the internal storage using the autorun file.

Successfully added the new synths to my MPC Live’s internal storage. It can be done, but you’ll definitely have to increase the MPC Live’s internal storage.
