Switching back and forth between clips

I'm trying to switch between two drum loops, but I don't want the loop to restart playback when I do.

I've tried a program with 2 clips, but as far as I can tell, there is no way to switch clips and keep the playhead position.

I tried 2 clip tracks with both loops on, and using track mute to switch. But it doesn't work since the midi events are at the beginning of the track.

It could probably work with 2 audio tracks, but there are no track mutes for audio tracks.

Anyone has a technique to switch back and forth between clips without loosing playhead position? thx

First put your two loops in a program. Set that program to play mono. Make two sequences, one for each drumloop, then switch between the sequences how you like, or put those sequences in a song in your desired change and convert that song to a sequence.

There are track mutes for audio tracks by the way, if you go to the track control via the main screen. Akai should make audio tracks available on the track mute screen.. it's on the request list from here i think.

Yeah the problem with the audio mutes is they aren't synced with time division. Maybe I just gotta get better at launching without td.
