The situation is quite confusing after One released.
But yeah, I am also quite sure Live production will be over soon.
And I am not downgrading to One of course, maybe One is a smart marketing move but not from the point of view of an Mpc user.
I am wondering if they are going to make audio through usb, since just a stereo output on an Mpc is a PITA.

If you use the @QuickStrike method, you can use audio over usb.

I prefer to use the Mpc Live method, 6 outputs to mixer and skip this new Mpc for kids ahah

3. Take your Live, it has a BATTERY.
4. Pre-Order the MPC ONE

You seem to be confused - I didn't ask for your advice, nor would I never consider it worth anything at any rate. Not sure why you seem to think your opinion is sought after. It's strange.

I'm pretty confident that Live users will enjoy the same updates as X and One users if production stops, for quite a bit. There's no evidence to suggest that won't be the case, so I wouldn't worry.

But why?

Yeah, I have no intent of getting a One. The Live does everything it can do plus more (with the exception of the CV jacks). Just seems redundant to pick one up for my use.

Mpc Tutor just said One will not have same firmware as Live, no ableton integration and (I'm not sure) some air synths will not be available for One.
This is what he said.
It would be nice if he chimes in and explain better.

The updates are similar but will not be the same. They share the same code, but not everything will be included.

Ahhhh - there it is - the ad hominem. I figured it was only a matter of time, as you are unable to resist making things personal. Sad. I couldn't care less how you feel about my music. The streaming royalties paid for my MPC Live, so apparently some people like it.

I know what he said, but he does not work for Akai. The firmware is customized for each specific device, eliminating some features and adding others depending on the product. But it's all based on the exact same OS, so again - nothing to worry about.

But I don't know what any of that has to do with people thinking the Live's production is going to cease soon...

You don’t have to worry about that Live/X/One share the same specs..The only way to discontinue it is if they release a more specs powerful new MPC and from what i see it ain’t happening anytime soon..So sit back and enjoy your MPCs people

They don't have to discontinue it, just have to stop promoting and shipping it to stores. If the LIVE was in demand, the distributions/fulfillment would supply units from less profitable markets. But it's not and the main retail focus is on The MPC ONE.

I said Ableton Live Control mode is not going to be on the One (as stated by Andy Mac), I didn't say anything about synths. I also said I hope they don't start holding back features from the Live/X once newer hardware is released in the future (unless the hardware can't physically support those features).

I don't know why you guys so uptight about the live being discontinued. It happens.... It had a good run. It was a spin off of the MPC touch. Which was a flop. Not a bad machine but they Just went too far away from the whole MPC scheme of workflow. actually it wouldn't have did it as good if it didn't have a lot of marketing promotion from big names doing live finger drumming.

The point of MPCs is humanizing a drum machine. All MPCs didn't have ginormous amounts inputs and outputs and battery power. But they all did have a streamline workflow.

MPC one continues the tradition in a traditional way. :smoker:

I’m sure it may have something to do with no WiFi but can’t ableton control work with usb?

Not sure if it’s possible but it would seem integrations with the controllers like being able to plug in a apc would lead to increased revenue. I guess it could cut into sales, but some of those knobby controllers are just what the live needs
