Why do I think the Live (in its current form at least) will be discontinued?

1. Low inventory - which makes perfect sense now, given the One release, because they probably shut down the Live manufacturing line to make the initial batch of the One.

2. If the One sells, and they need more units, they won't convert it back to the Live line. They'll keep making the One.

3. The Force and X are likely different lines, as the footprint is much different. But the footprint of the One and Live are similar enough that I could see a manufacturing line being converted pretty easily (at a cost of course). If the One sells well enough, why pay to convert that line back to make Live units?

It's likely that what's in stores now, is all the Live units there are, unless the One doesn't sell well and they decided to manufacture more. So if I were offering a recommendation to anyone that wanted a Live, get one now, as they may not be planning to manufacture more in the future. They probably had to pick a line to convert, and the Force and X wouldn't have made any sense. The Live though - that line would have made perfect sense to convert to a One manufacturing line.

This is all grain of salt stuff - I don't work for Akai, nor am I a manufacturing expert (far from it). I'm just using my business sense and logic to give a response to the question about why I think the Live is done.

Man just my opinion, and not trying to get in the middle of it either. But Enoch, I would take that video down. Not a good look - for several reasons. The only way you can prove dollars and cents to folks is with a balance sheet and a P&L statement. Deposits don't prove anything. It's not a good look to anyone that understands business.

If he were truly a professional, he wouldn't lurk on forums and do what he does. But I'm not in a contest to see who makes more money or sounds better - that's just pedantic and silly. I'm here for the same reason most of us are: talk about our MPC's.
