Noob w/ question about programming midi notes on mpc live.

Hi, I am just learning how to use my mpc live. I also have an elektron analog keys. I have been using midi out to send notes from the mpc to the analog keys. The pads on the mpc only play lower octaves (even d-h). I have been using the little virtual keyboard sequencer to program notes in the mpc but it has been a hassle. I am wondering if i can plug a keyboard in to select notes on the mpc, which would then be played by the elektron. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can... you just need to convert a track to midi, then set the port output MIDI(A/B/C/D) and midi channel.

I ended up going midi out from the mpc into the analog keys, and then midi out from the analog keys back into the mpc. It seems to be working out so far. I first tried using a usb cable from the elektron to the mpc and that did not work..... I'm not sure why.

The USB might need to be turned on, or maybe is not class compliant... I don't know how the analog keys works.

You might need to disable local midi if you operate the way you have it setup... consider this if you get double or ghost notes.
