Could we talk about the new MPC one?

Yes, I agree. It reminds me of a similar issue some Jamaican rastas I played Super Street Fighter 2 with, they'd cross their arms over so the right hand was doing the control, left was pressing the buttons. They managed to be really effective Zangief players though.

You raise some excellent points. I have a few trouble tickets that are being worked on with Akai right now. We've tried a few things so far as to put the MPC One on a wooden stand which was supposed to help increase overall harmonics, it didn't work out too well though.

Did you have the mic set up right inside the box?
Edit you said stand... that’s your problem. Enclose the rest of the stand with wood making a box, plug your mic in, and put it inside the box.

They'll kick me out the Beta Program for posting this. But the MPC ONE MKII with the Stream your Royalties screen. That way you don't have to screen record a copy of your tunecore checks. You can live stream them directly to youtube via wifi. All in 4K with 24/192 audio. P.S. Wood is optional.

I wonder what happens when said royalties are snapped to the grid....

On a serious note... they have buttons in the perfect spot on the left, well for me. It’s crazy to be this nit picky about this stuff , as I get by fine with the live. Starting to think a box the size of the force, with this layout but with scribble strips under the screen and the x screen would be dope. They would prolly do it with the limited I/0 similar to the force, which would suck.

I dig the design ALOT, I just wish it was MPC sized. Like a 2000 with a 7" flip up screen. But then I guess you just get an X for that.

Salute E! That 2000xl held me down. I had so much fun and mastered that machine.

I don’t think they could squeeze the in and out I need into that form factor, and I already have what I need but I think it’s great for Akai and it’s customers the live is powerful and not everyone works like me.

i wasn't havin it on the first look, but then i saw all the buttons and immediatly felt like this is way quicker to work on than the mpc live. let's see how the smaller pads compare to the live but i'm most definetly gonna switch and sell the live to get the one. it just looks so much more convenient to work on. and im glad the whole rubber coat is gone...

People said the same thing about the size of MPC 2000 and 2000XL. The MIDI ports was major issue because up to that point, all MPC's had 4 midi outs and standard 8 out. Imagine the flagship of 2020 still has the same MIDI and Audio outs as the Flagship of 1988

8 was good when tracking out mono drum samples. But At this point the MPC FLAGSHIP should have at least 8 MIDI OUT and 8 MIDI IN, 16 audio ins and 16 audio outs and 32 in/out over USB.

Exactly the reasons why i would not buy a mpc one but need an mpc live. It's more compact, and coming from an mpc 1000, it feels much better. At least better than the weird square of the mpc one

As time has moved on, I'm wishing more and more there was a Live update that had the form factor of the One, with a hinged screen, big pads, and a trade in program, because I don't need a new Live, but I do like the layout, minus the smaller buttons. I'm just not a fan of drumming at an angle, but I am a fan of my screen at an angle.
