For anyone concerned about the depth of the MPC ONE vs MPC LIVE. Just keep in mind that the MPC One, is only 1.9 inches deeper than the live. While the Akai Force is 7.3 inches deeper than the live. If you compare the Force to the MPC X. The Force is the same depth as the MPC X with the screen up.
MPC LIVE: 16.7” x
8.8” x 2.7” or 424 x 224 x 69 mm
MPC ONE: 10.7” x
10.7” x 2.1” or 272 x 272 x 53 mm
Akai Force: 13.8” x
15.3” x 2.85” or 350 x 389 x 72.5 mm
The other Pro's about the MPC ONE form factor, is that your arm or hand doesn't block the screen. You also don't have to look slightly to the right, when looking at the screen. This is why the 1000, 3000, 4000, 2500, 5000, and X have a better screen placement design.
This is one thing about the 60, 2000. 2000xl that I did not like. The Screen placement was not Ergonomics correct for long usage. So if or when they release another MPC LIVE, they should stick to the screen directly above the pads and adopt the ONE/FORCE form factor.
This is one reason on keyboard workstations, the screen is directly above middle c on larger keyboards and over the F on smaller keyboards. Not always but for the most part.
