Yeah, but they're hustling, gambling and setting people up to get robbed. Old Men in the park are informants. Father always said, stay out of the park. People out here inventing MPC LIVE Battery stories. (THIS IS HILARIOUS!!)

I was on a African Safari, I got out the van and started making beats for zebra, elephants, and Hippos. Then a pride of Lions came up, sat down, and started enjoying the beats. That was the year, I united the animal kingdom.

Now you can't list your MPC LIVE on eBay, as being in a smoke free studio. But seriously, I wonder if they will incorporated the MPC LIVE shift/pad shortcuts into the MPC ONE. Seems like that would be easy to do. Or at least allow the users to create their own user based short cuts.

The studio is smoke free... that doesn’t mean it was always in there... lol.

You’d think the shift functions would be on there. Strange. Agree user short cuts is even better.

The MPC doesn't have the shift/pad short cuts. I would like to see and reset mpc option. That way we don't have to shut it down, then start it up. Hit the power button and it gives the option of reset, shut down, or cancel.

Who walks around with a radio? Look at how many people are trying to invent some way to use the MPC Live. Hey man, when I'm at my girls house and the power went out. So we shared headphones and made beats for 5 hours.

I was making beats, while going to meeting. I jumped in the elevator and the while going up the elevator stopped working. So I just sat down and made beats for 2 hours. I had a microphone in my pocket and I used that to sample the elevator music.

+1000

I was going to the studio with mpc on a bag in the car but the car stopped working.
There was a square near there so I took the mpc, said **** off to the car and sat on a bench with mpc on my legs and the headphones.
I made a beat and called it Bench and the beat was so good I lost space/time coordinates for half an hour and after I saved the beat I lifted my eyes and the car was not there anymore.
You see?
They stole my car because of the battery of Mpc.

So your firewire works perfectly! That's why in few post later I say I track at -12db in my Daw to give to my plugin what they expect, because they mainly simulate hardware.

Im not sure who told you that, but they're dead wrong. 0db is 0db regardless of whether its digital or analog. DBu is a defined measure of RMS voltage, its a standard, there is no variation. 0DBu=0DBu. And DBfs, just references full scale where 0db is the absolute top of the range it can go. If 0db in your mixer is hitting -12db anywhere else, then something in the chain isn't calibrated correctly. Either your mixer needs a tune up, or the device you're using to measure is **** and needs to be adjusted.

  man l was like "-12db WTF?

Im so glad to be ITB without having a chain of gear before it it gets to the DAW. I am directly in it.

Some say -12bd or -18db in digital is equal to 0db analog. All I say is check your meters, but trust your ears. Everything else is just mixing by numbers.

There's definitely a conversion happening. It's true there's not a standard put generally is around that ratio. It all depend about your set up, if you look into the specs of you audio interface and your DAW you would be able to calculate the ratio. I hope DAW simply let us select different meter so we could understand easily.
Anyway just for fun try a dbwhaterver app. Run the same file in your DAW and in your mixer. Check your DAW first and then see how much you have to adjust to get the same value on your mixer. The meter of your DAW and your mixer they will probably have 12ishdb of difference.

Of course if it sounds good whatever but honestly it become second nature for me even visually. Notice how -12db is basically at the middle of the fader in Studio1 and Ableton is at -18db. It also give you the best ratio for your fader. Try in your DAW with a gain tool and see how your fader react better when your instruments is around that range.

And you can only say that thinking it's not useful. And you can only think it's not useful if you don't use it and believe others don't either.

Several folks have given examples of how they use it outside of your exaggerated examples, but you still insist it's a gimmick. Odd.
