Then again, Akai has pulled these kind of tricks of in the past...

MPC 3.0 should be available for the MPC ONE. Sense it's a new unit.

Eyalc wrote:I agree with Charles, OS 3.0 will cost. And if it's a meaningful update that's certainly fair. However, I imagine it would just come with the mkII. Or they'll add a condition like "$99 for MPC owners, free to owners of the Live mkII".

But they're in a difficult spot. What about MPX X and One owners that purchased after a certain date? I imagine there will be some condition for that as well.

If they're still selling the MPC X, I would think the OS update will be there. Because there isn't a new unit to replace it.

Eyalc wrote:What features would 3.0 have to have (software or standalone), for you to consider it a meaningful update?

Sending audio and midi over the RJ-45 port.
Ability to use the RJ-45 to cascade two MPC's together.
Ability to use the RJ 45 port and add the MPC to a network for data transfer/backup in standalone.

* Reset button
* time stretch algorithm, but leave the old one because I use it as an effect. [C.R.E.A.M]
* Improve the MIDI LEARN and allow it save as shareable user template.
* Pre-mapped Gear and ability to add to it and share it.
* Lot more Bug fixes.
* Write a better Audio driver for the software.
* Ability to select Controller or Standalone mode when powering on the MPC.
* Official support for using Class Compliant MIDI interface
* Full QWERTY Keyboard short cuts in standalone.
* Ability to use a QWERTY Keyboard as a MIDI Keyboard.

I think Akai Pro listens to the users, but they should listen more and stop treating professional clientele like a regular consumers. The MPC is not a consumer device like the Nintendo Switch. So taking our feedback is more essential, because we rely on these tools to provide a living for our families.

I know if I talk to the certain companies, they take feedback very serious and will actually discuss how, why, what is going on and then look for ways to improve it in the future.

Theses are things that people know, who deep dive into a machine. So keep sharing those intimate tidbits, we need more of them.

Looks like Akai is taking preorders for the MK 3 as well. Not going to bother with the upcoming MK 2 when the MK 3 is coming in November.

This isn't 2001, the MPC shouldn't just be about sampling and no synths inside. It can satisfy both sampling and synth playing producers, its already headed down that path. It's DAW, computer, sampler, and drum sequencer.
I don't sample l play my music. I should have it easier when l have a MPC. No mo work arounds these machines need to be direct just like l give my money DIRECTLY to the company. I should be able to hook up a a small keyboard to it, open a dope synth and make a track away from my home setup. This is not rocket science.
