I don't sample l play my music. I should have it easier when l have a MPC. No mo work arounds these machines need to be direct just like l give my money DIRECTLY to the company. I should be able to hook up a a small keyboard to it, open a dope synth and make a track away from my home setup. This is not rocket science.

Absolutely.

Man I got a prototype that's so far ahead they ran out of numbers for it!
All it does is multi-timbral midi and disk streaming though. Nothing else.

Man they were headed in this direction with the 5000, then this new platform took some steps back on it. They’re heading that way now though. I agree with you. If we had access to more synths in standalone, I’d soon after want to see them tighten MPK integration to really take advantage of them as well.

What did the 5000 have that the Live/X don't (legit curious)? When I was first looking at getting one, I was thinking a 4000 or 5000 and on paper the Live and X have like the exact same feature set except for the built in synth the 5000 had. I only had crap online to compare em with though so no clue what else is going on under there.. When you look at the specs for the 4000 and then the Live/X you're like 'WTF KINDA DRUGS IS NUKAI ON?'

If I was Akai Pro, I would port the MPC SOFTWARE over to the PLAYSTATION and XBOX platform. In fact Ableton or Native Instruments could do the same thing. This is a TRUE "GAME CHANGER". These gaming device are built for video, so handling audio should not be an issues. This opens them up to a brand new audience.

I don't know what these music companies are thinking about. :WTF:

As of Feb 2020, XBOX ONE has sold 46 million units. Also you can buy one new for $249.99. All that is needed is a Real Professional XBOX MUSIC App and compatible MIDI controller. Now all Akai Pro would need to do is port over their software and make the MPC LIVE and MK II, MPC ONE, and MPC X compatible with the XBOX. It has everything you asked for.

These are the things the MPC Live Mk II should be tapping into. Not speakers and splice but Xbox and PLAYSTATION.

HDMI
Mouse and Keyboard Support
8 Core AMD
8 Gigs of RAM
3 - USB 3.0 Ports

plus, it isn't unheard of.... korg has done it and they had those music maker games back on the playstation 1 i think it was... plus the one on the psp. But let's not forget the classic DAW, mario paint.

Exactly, the Korg DS10 on the Nintendo DS. However now gaming hardware specs are prime for this.

I was only referring to the built-in synth. 5000 had issues though. But the 4000 was (is) just an all around superior sampler IMO. I think a big mistake was trying to develop something from the ground up - where they could have (should have?) built on top of the 4000 architecture. Would have a been a much more advanced platform by now. But they're more interested in clips and splice.
