I think Akai implemented quite a lot of requests already. Think it would be nearly impossble to build the perfect MPC, even if money wouldn’t be a factor. Imo it’s also a good things to try and use other gear for certain tasks because your favourite weapon of choice isn’t perfectly up for it. Plus being able to work around limitations or coming up with creative solutions is also a useful skill to hone.

Why doesn't the MPC X (Flagship) have Digital I/O, Word-clock, 4 MIDI IN and 8 MIDI OUT, Dante, 8 in & 16 out analog outputs, and 24 audio out over USB. This should be the starting point. Then select the CPU, RAM, GPU, Power Supply that can over support it. After that, build the Software around it and stream line it until it's ultra quick and snappy.

Put it in the hands of different people, who all are musicians, engineers, and power users. Then let them push it to the limits. Then correct everything those power users said, and do it again. Will it be perfect? NO! But my god they could really make a run at it. This is the AKAI PRO and the MPC should be the KING/GOD/MONSTER of all drum machine. Step to us and we will crush you.

That should be their approach, instead we get. Hey check out this neat little feature. That the reason, I returned the others and bought the MPC ONE. It's nice cute and has neat little features, that sits on the side table.

I think Akai has given us alot! 3 or 4yrs ago, Akai gave the X with all the Bells and Whistles. Then They had to offer a Scaled Down Version of it (Live)

As with any Product Released, we'll want More out of it. If They Designed The MPC XY with 32 outs, We'll want 64 outs lol. No matter what they offer on the Next Unit, We'll want More....For Free!!! smh

When they Implement Disk Streaming....I can Guarantee we'll want Disk Streaming in Two Directions! "Multi Timbural Disk Streaming" lol

Ahhhhh, ummmm no one nor did l say once Akai needs to build a PERFECT MPC! I l said A SUPA MPC!
Akai wouldn't know what a perfect mpc is.

If they are making a new MPC not take it to the next level. Why keep the same OS, ram etc.

But the MPC X did not come with all the bells and whistle. I agree, give them 32 and they will want 64. So If they want 64, buy a second one and cascade them together via some kind of Akai Link.

Ok here we go.

Lets forget about the X and live , it is what it is with them. Im talking future machines. The next machine should be option prone. Where you could add more to the MPC. Like, ram, give us 8 Gig ram but let us be able to go 128Gig of ram. You want more than 24 audio tracks? Then pay for 64 audio tracks. Maje it staight up Standalone , not bein tethered to the computer. Its 2020 not 2001.

For current MPCs to be passable they need to be able to do everything each legacy mpc could do and do better, i wont be happy till then cuz its not an upgrade its just a bigger side step to a plastic kids toy :vomit: inmusic nukai doesnt matter who carries the torch for the mpc brand it needs to get better or curl up and die in shame like it is currently doing

"Think it would be nearly impossble to build the perfect MPC, even if money wouldn’t be a factor."

I think of it this way:

Modern DAWs are the most powerful music machines atm. Akai (& others) are trying to put a DAW in a standalone box. Once they do, it'll just be about finding, customizing & using the right box for you. Its not too far off, just hope I'm around to see it... In MPC form... (or another)

I don't know if mkii is really gonna be a step in the right direction for me, but we'll all find out eventually...

SERIOUSLY? Or are you being sarcastic? :smoker: :hmmm:

I'm just messing with you.

We all know how much hate the Live gets around here from the old geezers - err - I mean old school MPC users. Akai thinks a speaker and an arm rest will make them happy, though.

Shrew ! Man don't scare me like that.
I love my live l don't like how those behind it are working.
If AKai thinks a speaker and arm rest is ground breaking they are definitely asinine!

Akai should be thinking GROUND BREAKING and coming to us for suggestions.
