Everyone is hating on the speakers, but I am really looking forward to them. I also love the Splice integration, so maybe I'm just more representative of the target market. But I'm telling you, I'll throw money at them for the speaker. Solves a big pain point for me.

They, quite literally, just added a few buttons and a speaker. Like danoc said, my buttons & shortcuts work fine and dont impede my workflow what-so-ever.
I think akai is trying to sit in a space between the more 'serious' Elektron- type nerds & the 'fun-loving' teenage engineering/korg-type nerds... Its a merging of the above & the 'backpack'-type nerds.

It will have the quality of those bluetooth speakers where all frequencies are just fake, with bass reflex and these sort of things.
