I think most of us can agree that MPC 2.8 is a good step in the right direction, and I'm only guessing here so don't rake me over the coals over this, but I think 3.0 is where we will see the MPC become a full-fledge DAW that can compete with Reason, FL Studio, Studio One, Logic, etc.
They got a major portion of MIDI out the way, so maybe in 2.9 we will see more of a focus on MIDI by them adding MIDI FX, maybe Audio to MIDI conversion, and then maybe in 3.0, we will see those new instruments plugins along with advanced audio editing, Plugin Delay Compensation, disk streaming and hopefully a linear timeline for song mode and an improved mixer with more inserts and send/return options.
What do you hope to see in 2.9 and 3.0?
