Sounds like people are looking for a MPC Live Replacement. To me....when a new product comes out, i look at it as an Addition to my Arsenal. I didnt throw away my other DAWs, i Keep em there when i need a particular sound or effect.
I may sound crazy, but I still have a seperate Computer thats running Windows XP to handle all my Old VSTi's. I added another computer with Windows 10 on it to handle my New Sh*t.
The way im setup, Im Midi'd up to both Computers with KVM Switches, and audio runnin thru my Mixer Back n Forth into the X/Live.

I probably Wont jump on the MKII just yet, UNLESS they take it back to the Drawing Board and Slide 3.0 inside of it. I have a feelin thats why they released 2.8.....To keep us on Ice until 3.0 comes out in New Hardware.
Those MKII videos were Old....Thats why Akai is lettin them Lurk around to feel the Market out...

Just my Thoughts lol

There's nothing creepy bout me dude. Yo ass was trying to make it seem like l was the only ONE that didn't like Akai's ideas. Yo ass tried to make it seem basically like l was hating. So to stop you l showed you others are saying the same thing. Now l'll leave you to figure out any other crap going on. Don't try to play dialectic acrobatics with me.

This is categorically false, and disappointing that you interpreted anything I said like that. Troubling, in fact. :hmmm: I did no such thing, and it's strange you see it like that. Will you please point out where I insinuated you were the only one that didn't like Akai's ideas? I'll wait.

I think the positives about the Live 2 are the CV and more buttons. I actually think the speaker (yes, I still refuse to call it a monitor :Sigh: ) is a detriment. Why? Because I think the majority of people that are excited about it will rarely be in a physical location where the ambient noise is low enough to discern a good sound from a bad one.

The last thing music needs is Akai contributing to lil man’s and them’s microwave beats by convincing them that they’re really using some form of “monitor” to mix and master their productions (I’m actually surprised they haven’t included a “mastering” button on the MPC - seriously).

To me it just screams average, and results in the production of music that has no business being heard anywhere other than in someone’s bedroom. Now, do I think some people could do well to produce a record listening through Live’s speakers? Yes, but those who know better wouldn’t do it that way. And that’s my point about the speaker. Akai is marketing to people that don’t know any better. And IMO, it should be the opposite way - want to be a better producer? You need cans or legit monitors to do this. Not “here’s a set of 2” speakers so you can produce your hot beats anywhere!” The speakers would have made more sense on the entry level MPC. Not the mid-tier.

As always, grain of salt with my opinions. I don’t use an MPC as a hobby. And I realize that I’m not in the target market for an MPC speaker. Still, I think it will do more harm than good in the long run.

It's a monitor lol see this is what lm talking about. Just like the term "BEDROOM PRODUCER" it sounds ridiculous and unprofessional.
Its a speaker. Akai with with their gimmick terms. Just like "GAME CHANGER"

But you have the right to big up this and l have the right to not.
