How do I paint a note that's longer than grid resolution (typically 1/16th) - if I just drag the finger accross it enters several 1/16th notes, rather than a longer 1/4, 1/2 or full note? Perhaps there's some key I need to hold while doing this? I know I can paint a note and edit its start or end point afterwards, but that's not very convenient workflow.

Also, how do I change the resolution from 1/16 to something smaller or bigger, ideally without going out from Grid View to some other screens?

Yes, I searched for both in User Guide :(

select the note you want to make longer, select „edit end“ at the bottom center of the screen and make it longer by turning the big knob wheel on the mpc.
you can edit the the resolution by double tab the number (normally 16) at the top of the painted keyboard/pad numbers at the top left side of your screen in grid mode

rtfm^^

I mentioned about start/end editing, so please RTFPYRT* ;)

Thanks about the grid resolution - I don't see it mentioned in Unser Manual and I somehow missed it on the screen itself! :Sigh:

I believe the only way is to use EDIT END (hit DONT SNAP for finer control). I agree, it's a poor workflow, seems like holding down SHIFT while you draw would be the obvious way to dynamically control the length of a single event.

Change TC in GRID by holding down the NOTE REPEAT button, or via SHIFT > TC. Or tap that tiny number at the top left of the screen, which I find almost impossible to ever hit properly.

It's little things like this, that they need to go back touch up. In this case using the big knob to extend the note, will eventually wear out the Potentiometer, not to mention it's just slower. Adding note extension function for touch and a bracket icons would clear this up. Until then, it's easier to play the note.

I use grid mode or list edit for small corrections. I play everything in, because it's the best way to maintain that human feel.
