Hey Everybody,
I'm working with the MPK225 and MPC Studio software. Still kinda new, but I keep running into MIDI problems. They seem simple enough, but finding easy answers is harder than it should be.
1. NOTE MAPPING. Everything seemed setup fine. On hardware Preset #2 the pads were in order: A01=A01, A02=A02 etc.
This has been thrown off completely. Now I get this arrangement: A01=A02, A02=A01, A03=A07, A04=C15, A05=A05, A06=A03 etc.
If I go to edit NOTE MAPPING, this seems to be a typical configuration. But then when I change it back, all of the events I have previously entered are shifted! This kills my work and wastes a lot of time.
Why does this happen? What is up with the different note mapping patterns? Is there a way I can set it up so that the one that makes the most sense is the only one I have to deal with?
I tried looking through the manuals and online but cannot find a simple explanation for this. It's a hassle if I load a sequence from another source and suddenly my MIDI is all screwed up. I'd rather read about it and know how it works myself.
#2: NOTE REPEAT. It simply is not working now when I play a sequence. What needs to be done to make NOTE REPEAT work? I tried looking in the manual and can't find an explanation.
Thanks for any input. I can work around most issues by trying out different presets to find what works, but I wish I understood the actual issue and could just take care of it. I looked online, but it's not easy to understand why this is happening when I am new to MIDI.
