Not a huge deal if it doesn't, because I also have Launchpad X, but would still be great to have it considering there's no technical reason to not have it?

If it stays that way, it sets up a worrying precedent for potential MPC Software 3.0 being somehow 'crippled' on One :(

Realistically, I don't see it happening. Since the MPC One launched, Ableton control was provided via the Live and X, yet it was left out on the One - very likely to keep it differentiated from the Live/X being the upper-tier products. Can the One do via hardware/software? Very likely - as the One, X, Live, and Force all share the same motherboard, CPU, RAM, and very likely SoC motherboard. Short of the One missing Bluetooth and WiFi, there's no reason why the hardware can support it (using the NIC jack in the back).

The question is: will Akai allow you to do so with a simple firmware update "just because"? I'd say chances point to "no", but stranger things have happened.

If they pull shit like that I'm selling it in a heartbeat and getting M+ instead.

The only other cut-back I'd accept is if some new plugins weren't available for One, but I could still buy them separately at a reasonable price (say EUR49).
