MIDI track isnt triggering my external synth during loop

Hi everyone,

I have a roland gaia hooked up to my MPC live 2, and i initially able to trigger the synth using my pads and i can hear it played back into my mpc, but when im over-dubbing my loop and play those pads, i hear them initially, but when the loop goes back over my recorded midi notes, it doesnt trigger my synth anymore...

im not sure if this is a bug or if im missing something here?

I think i solved it. i needed to arm the midi track to auto or merge for it to play back the midi notes with my synth
