MPC MIDI Thru Routing

Is it possible to route MIDI from an external USB-Controller connected to the Live II to the classic 5-pin DIN MIDI Out?

I use a Behringer X-Air to manage all audio signals from my Synth/Grooveboxes/MPCs and don`t want to use the Tablet or my Mobile to adjust the Levels and the Signal-Routings. So now i´ll order a Reloop Keyfadr to use the Keys to Play the Gear and use the Faders to control the X-Air.

Unfortunately the Keyfadr only serves USB-MIDI (class compilant) and the Behringer only got DIN 5pin. So actually i need a USB MIDI Host -> DIN like the Kenton for example. BUT when its possible to Route in the MPC Live i can save my money for that purpose.

So, which settings i have to adjust in the MPC to do the trick?

I'm a bit confused what you want to achieve here. Can you explain what you are after with this idea?

hello i'm not sure it would be perfectly matching but i use this setup for controllingexternal synths from external controller via my mpc, so it should work.

I think you need to :

- connect your controller to the usb of Akai (or a hub)
- connect you MPC's MIDI OUT Din A or B to the Behringer Air

- In the midi préférences of mpc : check that you have assigned the controller port to "control", be careful to assign the Air control to a specific channel , different for the other channels you would use for other gear..

- Also assign the Din midi output connect to the Air to "Control"

- create a Midi out program and assign it on a empty track on one or all of the sequences you will use ,

- this midi program should be set to
INPUT : your controllers port and channel OUTPUT : the din port of your mpc that you use for the Air mixing console. Channel should match depending of the behringer's midi impementation . you can then drive the Air with the controller knobs, depending of course of your CC's number that have to match the Air Cc's

Does the Air receive Program Change to make "scenes" ? If they do, you could recall several scenes directly at the beginning of each sequences , from the midi out track settings of your MPC !! or using Automation in LIST Editor !! Super powerful feature for live use !!
