LOL hahahaaaa    I told ya. Dammmmmmm how in the hell you get the Senns that dam fast?
Turn up the volume but not to damage your ears. Do you feel you need an amp? If not don't, if you do then get one. You don't want to damage your ears! The goal is if you can hear every instrument clearly.

Peace.

lmao yup! Ordered through sweetwater with next day delivery. So I asked this earlier but wasn't sure if the answer was yes or no, but should I have a preamp for the Sennheisers when working with the mpc one or is it not needed?

I use my audio interface amp. UAD Apollo twin and a UAD Apollo X6.

UAD Apollo X6 is plenty!

UAD Apollo X6 Headphone amp

Stereo Headphone Outputs 1 – 2
Frequency Response20 Hz – 20 kHz, ±0.05 dB
Dynamic Range125 dB (A–weighted)
Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise Ratio (1 kHz @ -1 dBFS)-102 dB (0.00080%)
Maximum Output Power (into 300 ohm load)150 mW RMS
Connector Type¼” Female TRS Stereo

vs

MPC ONE Headphone amp

Frequency Response: 20 Hz –20 kHz (+0/-0.8 dB)
Dynamic Range: 112.5 dB (A-weighted, 32Ω)
THD+N: 0.006% (1 kHz, -1 dBFS, 32Ω)
Maximum Output Level: 28.8 mW @ 32Ω

QuentinB wrote:The one in my Signature is the original mix, the one that I did with the Audio Technas. Eventually I'll replace that but I think you have to have soundcloud pro to replace a file.

Now all you have to do is get a good Headphone amp and you'll be good for years.

Yes! Except I need to mic this drum kit. Need 8 more channels. Thinking of drum mics into a compact analog with 8 outs into a (soon to purchase) UAD x8. Or a (soon to purchase) UAD 8pre and run drum mics right into it.

But that's a different conversation - don't want to derail what the OP intended. lol

Thank you! It's funny, because when I listen to them a month after release, little things make me cringe - like "how did I NOT hear that???" LOL

  That's why l rest my ears. And 8 times go back and forth to see if l miss or hear anything out of the ordinary.
Im at a place where thangs are good. Plus l have those tools.

Oh yeah l said befote use the Senns for about 4 days and turn up your MPC One where its loud enough to hear your instruments in the cans. If you can no need. I don't use one but lm ITB. But if it soubd muddy like then get one. At this point bro its all up to you. But we're all still here to help. So get your ears adjusted.

You may not need an headphone amp depending on what audio interfaces you have. They may have enough output to properly drive those 650's. Which audio interfaces do you own?

I've got a behringer umc204, but I'm going directly into the mpc one right now. Also have a scarlot 2i2 some where around here.

Yeah, the headphone amps on those are no better, unfortunately.

I've got the HD600s and find that because they're so flat (or maybe just because the low end is very weak), when I listen back on any other device I've mixed the low end way too high, or more specifically I've boosted the low frequencies with eq.

Any tips to get around this? Would a well-paired amp solve the problem or is it just a case of making them sound right in the Senhheisers and then cutting the low end on the master channel, which is basically how I do it now? (or something else completely.)

Monitors aren't an option BTW.

Getting a matching headphone is a must, if you're using a subpar monitoring system. What audio interface or mixer are you using? Are you mixing directly from MPC ONE headphone amp like the OP?

If monitors are not an option, you're going to need a way reference the mixes on different system. If you know you tend to boost the low end, then you're going to need to resist the urge to boost them. Get everything to a good balance level, reference it, take notes, go back and fix what you noted, reference the mix, take notes, fix. Keep Repeating until it sounds good.

The hard truth: If you're serious about mixing, you're going to need to invest in some good monitors. If not find and hire someone else to mix your music.

Im a HD 280 Pro type of Guy lol. Because they're Cheaper, but have some quality. The Coil Cord is a Plus...Because im kinda Destructive with Cords

I mix with Kinda Low Volume in the headphones, But Crank it on my Monitors (KRKs)

I use the HD 280 Pro for tracking because they're cheap and if they get destroyed just replace foams or buy a new pair. Plus I can use them for DJ mixing and plug them directly into the mixer.

I don't know what what you're mixing into.

1. Your bass shouldn't exceed pass -18.
2. Look at your EQ AND TAME YOUR BASS. Make sure it doesn't compete with the kick but blend it and the music.
3. Gain staging is essential.

I hope you know what l mean.

I use the Senn 600 HD and l have no problems
