Loading drums and sounds in controller mode

For some reason I cannot locate my library of drum kits and other sounds while in controller mode
I have no issues in standalone but as soon as I move into controller mode, I cannot locate that library

The standalone kit library is different from the software library. You'll need to install the drum kits on your computer...

how do you install kits on your computer

go to the akaipro.com site, login to your account, and you can find a lot of content to download including expansions that probably are not installed in standalone.

Oh wow that's a pleasant surprise. I do see that I have Hybrid 3, the 809 , the bank, the noise and the sub. what are those. I thought they were expansion packs. I guess those are plug ins not expansion packs

Yeh, you cannot install plugins onto the MPC in standalone, but you can install them and see a lot of them as plugins for the software.

I see a lot of different downloads in my Akai Account under software downloads. Should I be downloading all of the free software?

you can decide for yourself based on what you need for the type of music you have in mind. It's your party.

If you don't know just download them all, or better yet, i think there are previews of all this content so go check that out first.

I‘d second that, don‘t clutter your disk unnecessarily. I‘d even suggest you played around with what you already have first to get a grip on what you might need and what could be fun to use.

But at the end of the day, it‘s your decision. Don‘t own any expansions (except for Tutor‘s Bass <3 ), and I only have Drum & Legacy Content as well as Noise, Wub, 809 and The Bank, since they came with 1.0. I do use different plugins though, but since Reason 11 most are obsolete.

Beats is the stripped down version of the MPC Software... just use the MPC Software

ok thanks brother. Ive manage to download some of the expansion pack but I am unable to hear any sounds. I loaded up a recent project and I can hear that fine.

but for some reason I can hear any sounds from the expansions I've dowloaded.

If you're on standalone check the eye icon and see if the outputs are set to 1/2 or something else.
