Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Hi.
I have had a 4000 for many years and now I have bought a 2500.
The surprise is that with the 2500 I cannot open my Akai libraries like Bass Legends, etc. With the 4000 I could open them perfectly but the 2500 does not open them with any OS.
The extensions of the programs are .akp
Do you know if there is a solution?
Thank you

You know what the .wav files are in the library? 44.1khz/16-bit is all that the MPC 2500 can read. You'd need to convert them over someplace if they are something "fancy" like 96khz/24-bit or whatever.

Isn't those things like Bass Legends a Key group and not just samples? I think because of they are key groups they won't load just like on 4000 as its called instrument. Maybe just load samples but append the end of sample with its note and then make a sample instrument.

Sorry I did not enter the forum for days.
Yes, Akay's libraries are Keygroups but they are not recognized by the MPC2500 even though the samples are wav 16/44100.
I'm going to test the method you say to see if I can solve it.
Thank you very much

The 2500 won’t read 4000 instruments. They’re structured differently than 2500 programs.
You’re going to have to rebuild 2500 programs from the samples.

Built on top of the Z series sampler, The MPC4K was clearly in a class of its own. If you are attached to those libraries, I suggest u get another 4k. I would only move forward for the MPCX or LIVE. Every person I know who actually had the 4k swore by it.
