Hey Gang,

Any of you old enough to remember back in the 80s the MPC60 "Set" file format labeled .ST1 and .ST2? This took a "Set" file that was too large to fit onto one disk and split it. Allowing you to put .ST1 on one disk and .ST2 on a second disk.
It was short lived and very few knew about it but I'm hoping someone has some info.
None of the current techs at Akai have even heard of it.
I have over 100 kits that can't be loaded because Akai didn't include this format.
So it's not true when they say "can load ALL former formats."

Thanks for any help,
Mike

Reach out to these guys - they may be able to help:

ST1 and .ST2 aren't currently listed, but they might be able to get it working. Good luck!

if you still had a 60, i suggest loading them and then resaving the sounds on new floppies manually.... hell, even the 2000 classic probably reads those. I don't think on my personal projects that took 2 disks on the 60 that the files were called ST1 and 2 but i could be wrong.

None of my 60 files load in the new mpcs without crashing the whole unit. I just gave up lol.

Your Wrong
None of your projects took 2 disks. None of the MPC60s could save to 2 disks without this update.
And that's my dilemma, I don't want to buy a 60 just to loadup my old projects. But I may have to.
Thanks though.

i have two disk projects that were made and saved on OS2.12 and vimana 3.15. Another option is to load the project in an mpc2000 and resave it on that machine
