Perhaps, but it still would've been a good move and it would make things easier. Also a moot point can be up for debate. :smoker:

I understand that. :nod: But the radial piece does works for studio work and it's great option for those who want it. Plus it charges the device at the same time. :lol:

I always wondered why the rca inputs had to be tied to just phono. I remember trying to hook up my 404 to the 4000 and was like WTF. seems like they wouldn't need much to be able to use both phono levels and line level in the same rca jack. I was just saying that I don't think you get input unless it's selected. I don't use the RCA jacks and thought it may work, but I remembered they are disabled unless the the phono switch is on.

The MPC 5000 has a line/phono switch on the back, which uses the same input. Not sure why they decided not to continue it that.

If you do not want to have to spend money on adapters and gear, and if you can't get it to work any other way - the way I get audio off my android, is to just record the audio within the mobile itself, then I email it to myself..

Depending on what apps you find to do it with, you may be able to do it internally and avoid any quality loss or coloration of the sound.

There's also pages that say do online conversions of YouTube videos, to audio files that you can then download, slap in a USB stick and get it to the mpc.

Of course, it's not as fast as doing a direct recoding into the MPC.. but it works and I would not personally bother with anything else unless I somehow really depended on recording from mobile to such an extent that it's really worth investing in some gear to gain that efficiency...

But these sort of things are the reasons I wish I could access stuff via WiFi from the MPC, to easily transfer sounds from a mobile into the mpc, without having to care about having the right cables and adapters.

That's actually a pretty ingenious idea, though clunky. What are you using to record your audio on your phone? If you're screencapping via Android, the audio is lossy, so there's that. Unless you're able to choose uncompressed WAV in the file format?

I actually purchased an iRig pro I/O just recently for social media content, and found that sampling out of it into the MPC live 2 from my phone had a great sound. Way better than the stereo to aux cable personally speaking, and I like having that ability across multiple machines like the S2400 or my MPC2500.
It was on sale and I had G.A.S.
