Change Pad 1 bank A to C1

I have bought myself a mpc live 2, after using the renaissance for years (use to have an account here, mpcholland053) my issue is simple but beyond annoying.... a lot of plugins even the one included session drummer by sonivox have there sounds corresponding to C1 (the first key on a keyboard) so a lot of times the kick is on C1 and the snare D1... yet the first pad, pad 1 on bank A corresponds to C2 so one octave higher, so as far as i figure there is no way for me to use the kicks and snare below the C2... so this forces me to play the drums on the keyboard instead of the pads... this is ofcourse unacceptable... i can change the pads but it wont let me go below C2... so i am quite pissed off.... is there anyway to solve this???

Figured it out! for others breaking their mind over this, go to main, press shift + 16 levels (notes) it brings you to pad perform select, notes, and then you select the scale and octave! finally!
Sorry but i hope somebody else struggling with this particular problem is helped....

For a plugin program (without pad perform enabled) the pads should start on note C-2 (C, octave minus 2) on pad A01. Not sure why you are seeing C2 as the lowest note, I cannot recreate that at all. Are you sure you didn't have pad perform selected all along? That would change the MIDI notes assigned to your pads ad it's a common oversight as there is no global indication that pad perform is engaged.

I received the mpc live today and installed the software today, somehow by default Pad 1 on bank A was set to C2, only after going in pad perform i was able to change it... lower it an octave.... and you are right, when i had my mpc renaissance the default was indeed c-2 so with the same plugins i went to bank C to be able to start triggering them... i suppose this has been changed in a update and perhaps you already changed this, or it kept your original settings from before the update... but i am for real, it was a pain to figure it out and initially pad 1 on bank A was set on on C2, maybe indeed padperform was on in the initial settings....

Yes, this is the 'oops, I didn't turn off pad perform' issue, I geta lot of emails about this. Akai really need to have something in the top red bar that shows whether 'pad perform' is on or off.

The issue is that in previous firmwares, pad perform only worked specifically in the pad perform screen, it wasn't a global setting like it is now
