2.6 update, flatten pad and bounce track MAJOR BUG

After I updated my Live to v.2.6
every time I try to flatten a pad in program edit mode, the sample just disappears, I’ve made a video here so you can see what happens


And the same thing happens when I try to bounce tracks, I’ve also made a video so you can see what happens


So as you can see, this is very annoying,
I’ve been searching for an answer but I can’t seem to find anyone with the same problem.

Help!!!! :WTF:

I just tried to duplicate your problem...And my new Bounced or Flattened pad appears in the Sample Pool.
I suggest tryin to rename the Flattened sample other than the Generic one. See if that remedies the problem

did anyone ever find a fix for this? having the same issue. ive tried resetting, different firmwares, nothings resolving the issue. Akai's customer support have been really unhelpful also, not understanding the issue and taking ages to respond. really annoying.

Hello. Im having this problem currently, did any one ever hear of a fix for this?

The issue has persisted over numerous firmware versions including 2.9. Factory reset also hasn't helped. Nor has changing the name of the sample before saving.

Any customer support from has also been pretty useless so far.

Pardon? Is this true? What's going on here? You'd think it was discussed widely if that was the case. This was the only thread on this bug that I could find. Can anyone confirm that it's working for them and what version they're on?

I'm on MPC X 2.9.1, I just followed the first vid and I had zero problems.
Flattened 4 samples into 1 pad with short samples and 4 longs samples afterwards again and it's fine.
Both instances flattened into 1 pad with all 4 samples like it was supposed to.

Gonna try the second vid now.

Thanks Lampdog, highly appreciated. Any major bugs with 2.9.1 I should be aware of?

Well I updated to 2.9.1 and it still doesn't work. It appears I also already found a major bug, cause, unless there's something I'm unaware of, it now seems it's not any longer an option to turn off automation? WTF?

I think it depends on the Name of the "Flattened" Sample. Try renaming it without symbols.

Essentially...if the Automation is Lit Green...Its Not Automating. It'll Automate when it Enabled(RED).

So there's no need for Disabling

I've tried renaming it in every which way without luck. If I only could remember what version the Flatten Pad feature worked with. :WTF: But who knows, maybe if Akai support will eventually respond to my request sometime there might be a way to fix it.

So the automation wont somehow toggle on unless I push the icon on the screen to make it red?

We gave you a few suggestions over on GS. Basically you gotta post a video of the Exact Problem. Bcz right now, you're the only one with the Bug. Is it happening even in a New Project? Different Samples? Memory Maxed Out?

And the MPC will not Record Automation Unless its Toggled Red. So you're Good on that

Yeah memory is maxed out. I'll report back here too if I manage to back up my content so I can clear some disk space.

WUUUUTTT?!? For real?

I didn't get a chance last night to try the second vid.

When I get back home I will go through the first vid a few more times and see if I can recreate the problem. I started a new project each time, 4 times with several diff samples on all layers, always got the expected results, 4 samples would flatten to 1 pad/1 sample. Video has slices set to ALL, I tried ALL and again with PAD. I don't know what else was different.

I didn't notice the automation thing. I'll make sure to look for that tonight also.
